As announced very shortly before the weekend, I’ve joined Primus Racing for the 2018 Formula Race Promotions F2000 Championship. With limited testing in an F2000 car – less than three days in my teammate Simon Sikes’ car – and it being my first time driving “my” No. 64 machine (because it had been in the previous driver’s shop for many months and we were unable to have it delivered until the Friday when we arrived at the track), I had to keep expectations in check. However, that didn’t mean the team and I weren’t ready to give it our all.

Braselton, GA – Dramatic conditions at Road Atlanta saw Simon Sikes take his No. 3 entry from Primus Racing to victory in the rain, winning convincingly from his fourth place starting position in the second race of the season. It was the first win for Sikes, from Martinez, Georgia, in F2000 Series competition with Reece Everard finishing second with James Roe in third in a side-by-side finish. Steve Jenks, who was the outright winner of the morning race, won the Masters Class with a fifth place run. Full Results.

Braselton, GA – Steve Jenks scored his first career F2000 Championship Series victory on Sunday morning at Road Atlanta. Jenks, starting from the outside of the front role in the No.68, took the lead at the drop of the green and fended off a race-long challenge from 2017 Champion Brandon Dixon, who finished second. Series rookie David Durrett finished a strong third while Simon Sikes beat Reece Everard to the line for a photo finish for fourth. Full Results.
