Lexington, OH – Chris Miller took the F2000 Championship Series title while putting a stamp on his 2009 season by taking a dominating victory in the season finale at Mid-Ohio over Remy Audette and Tim Minor. The JDC driver lost the lead on the start to Audette only to pass the Canadian for the lead just a few laps later. After expertly controlling a restart, Miller was able to dictate the pace for the rest of the race, taking his fourth victory of the season and more importantly, the championship.
Lexington, OH – Chris Miller took pole for the F2000 season finale at Mid-Ohio this morning in qualifying and added another three points to his championship lead over Matthew Inge, who lost a front wing during the session and will have to start seventh. Remy Audette will line up next to Miller’s JDC Van Diemen. Tim Minor will start third alongside yesterday’s winner and 2009 rookie of the year, Benjamin Searcy. Victor Carbone rounded out the top five.
Lexington, OH – Benjamin Searcy and Z-Sports took their third win of the F2000 season at Mid-Ohio, Searcy held second spot for most of the race before a late race spin by leader Remy Audette gave him the lead and ultimately the victory. Tim Minor finished second, coming off a win at Summit Point. Audette recovered to finish third followed by Alegra’s Fabio Orsolon and championship points leader Chris Miller in an all green flag race.
Lexington, OH – In his usual fashion, championship points leader Chris Miller took pole for this afternoon’s first F2000 race of the weekend at Mid-Ohio at the last possible second, shattering the standing track record by some eight tenths of a second. Miller turned a lap of 1:24.117 to steal the pole away from Ben Searcy, who was fastest in practice and also set his best time on his final flying lap.
Lexington, OH – Benjamin Searcy paced yesterday’s testing and lowered his time even further to set fast lap in the morning’s practice session at 1:24.457. The afternoon session saw championship leader Chris Miller on the top of the charts with a 1:25.1, but the times were considerably slower as the sun baked the track throughout the day.
Lexington, OH – F2000 teams prepared for this weekend’s season finale by taking part in a two hour twilight testing session this evening. The unofficial test session ended with Benjamin Searcy turning a blistering lap of 1:24.5, edging Chris Miller, Remy Audette, Tim Minor and Matthew Inge. Searcy’s lap was almost a full half second under the track record.
Mundelein, IL (August 13, 2009)- Quantum Racing will make their season debut in the F2000 Championship Series this weekend at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course with driver and co-owner of the team, Slade Miller behind the wheel. Slade, 23, from Edmond, Oklahoma makes his return to road-racing after two years racing USAC Midgets and living in Indianapolis. The talented driver finished 2nd the last time he visited the 2.25 mile course in 2006, also driving his Van Diemen FF2000.
