What do I most remember about last weekend at Mosport? Well... right about now, the fabulous weather. Janice and I arrived back in North Florida and stepped out of the RV into 100+ degree heat. At Mosport, it might have gotten to 80.
JDC MotorSports returned to victory lane in F2000 Championship Series competition over the weekend (June 13-14), as American Chris Miller scored the victory in Round Five, prior to finishing a close second in Round Six at Mosport International Raceway. Mexican Alejandro Munoz continued his progression as a rookie driver, finishing 19th and 17th in the doubleheader.
Bowmanville, ONT – Matthew Inge passed Chris Miller on the outside going into turn eight with two laps to go at Mosport and held on to take his first F2000 win. Inge, driving for St. Clair Motorsports, narrowly missed out on a win at VIR and finished second in yesterday’s race and has been a front-runner all season.
Bowmanville, ONT – The early morning F2000 qualifying session for race two at Mosport saw Chris Miller snatch pole position, building upon his win in the first race on Saturday afternoon and grabbing another three championship points.
Bowmanville, ONT – Chris Miller got around Remy Audette on the start and never looked back, winning the fifth race of the 2009 F2000 season and his second of the year. As the race developed, Matthew Inge moved into second and cut Miller’s lead to virtually nothing in a matter of laps, but Miller was able to hang on by just a couple tenths at the end to take the first race at Mosport.
Bowmanville, ONT – Remy Audette took pole for this afternoon’s first race at Mosport with a lap of 1:21.924. Audette spent most of yesterday barely in the top five, and at the conclusion of yesterday afternoon’s practice session the team made drastic setup changes on the Dimension Doors/Novatech Van Diemen.
Bowmanville, ONT – On a beautiful day in Ontario, Chris Miller and JDC Motorsports led the way at Mosport in the opening rounds of practice for this weekend’s F2000 races, posting a best time of 1:22.054. Miller, who sits a solid third in the standings, won the second race of the season over Matthew Inge and is hoping to build upon two podium finishes at Lime Rock a few weeks ago.
